CONGRATULATIONS!
We are excited about meeting you and having you join the Nichols College community this semester. As an accepted student here at Nichols, we are sure you have many questions regarding the semester. If you do not see your questions answered here, please email us at reslife@nichols.edu so we can post and respond to your question. After all, if you are wondering, many of your peers are probably wondering as well!
When will I find out where I am living and who my roommates are?
We will wait until after Orientation to assign rooms so that students may contact us about a roommate preference. You should receive a letter in early August detailing your building & room number, your roommates and their home addresses, as well as valuable "move-in" information.
Can I pick my roommate?
You may pick the person or people you would like to live with. Every effort will be made to house roommate requests in a room that will fill the request - for example, two students who want to live together will be housed in a double (we do not usually add someone else into the room.) You may notify us of your roommate choice by writing it in on your Housing Preference Form, completing the appropriate paperwork that will be given out at Orientation or by having all members of the group email reslife@nichols.edu detailing who will be living in the room.
What should I bring with me?
When I get there, what will I find in my room?
A Single bed, mattress - extra long (36"x80"), closet/wardrobe, desk, chair, shades/blinds, and a shower curtain.
What about my mailing address?
There is a Post Office on campus with boxes for each student. Barring any problems throughout your stay at Nichols, you should maintain the same Unit number. You will receive this Unit Number during New Student Check In. The format you should use for your mailing address is:
NAME
Unit #
Nichols College
P.O. Box 5000
Dudley, MA 01571-5000
Remember, you don't get cookies, brownies, care packages or money if you don't give anyone your address so remember to give everyone your accurate address (and give them ours too, we enjoy brownies ... no nuts).

Will we have laundry facilities?
For your convenience. all residence halls are equipped with washing machines and dryers. There is no cost associated with these machines.
What if the building is damaged while I am living there?
Implicit in the assignment to a college residence hall is an agreement on your part to be jointly responsible with the other residents for the protection of the hall, it's furnishings and equipment, and to share in the payment of damages sustained. Therefore, unassigned damages will be billed to all students at the end of each semester.
