In my second year, I love teaching and the overall atmosphere at Nichols College. I have had many opportunities to teach a variety of Physical Education and Sport Administration courses before and during my graduate studies. This teaching experience is combined with sound practical experience in the field working as an administrator, and an elite level coach.
As a result, my teaching philosophy is centers around a holistic approach where students are engaged to use critical thinking skills for practical application. The Sport Management field is constantly changing with the many opportunities growing stronger everyday. I try to introduce students to the many career opportunities available while preparing them for future management positions. I encourage students to take advantage of the knowledge, experience and network available at Nichols College. The Sport Management Faculty are here to help you learn, and enjoy your college experience.
My recently completed dissertation study examined NCAA Athletic Directors' leadership frame, goal orientation, and their relationship to organizational effectiveness. I have presented at the Collegiate Sport Research Institute, NASSS (Sport sociology), NASSM, and SRLA Conferences.
My future research interests include exploring authentic leadership in sport, retirement transition for college and professional athletes, and research towards the development of a self-efficacy scale for athletic administrators.
I currently hold the position of Secretary and Treasurer of The Drake Group, a national organization whose mission is to help faculty and staff defend academic integrity in the face of the increasingly commercialized college sport industry.
Besides my duties as the school's Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach, my personal interests include running, hiking, exercise, reading, and sport in general. I was born a Montreal Canadiens fan and I am also an avid supporter of the Manchester United Football Club.
